Two Trail Rides Coming Through Katy Area this Week

KATY (Covering Katy News) – Two trail rides will pass through the Katy area over the next week.  Motorists should be on the lookout for horses, donkeys and wagons.  Parents can also bring their children to see the animals during lunch breaks and during the late afternoon at locations where riders will make overnight stops, both of which will happen at two locations in Katy on Wednesday.

The Valley Lodge Trail Ride will spend the night at Katy’s Great Southwest Equestrian Center on South Mason Road in Cinco Ranch.  The Salt Grass Trail Ride will spend Wednesday night at Katy Park on Morton Road.  The following night will be spent at a park at the Addicks Reservoir.

The Valley Lodge Trail Ride Association will pass through Brookshire, Simonton, Fulshear and Katy during their 2018 trail ride to Houston’s Memorial Park.

Valley Lodge trail-riders will stop at many well-known locations including the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Rio Bravo (formerly Dekkers Grill) and Huggins Elementary School in Fulshear and Parkway Church and Gallery Furniture in Richmond. See their full schedule below.

The Saltgrass Trail Riders are spending Saturday night at a staging area in Cat Spring, Texas.  They will begin their journey toward Houston Sunday at 9 a.m.
